When God Speaks - The Heart of Jesus

As Christians, we pray.  When we pray that means we communicate with Him.  Most of the time, it seems in my life, that communication with God is talking to Him.  Asking, Telling, Pleading, Thanking Him.  All of that is good, but I decided to practice the other piece of communication and LISTEN!  For 24 hours, I became silent.  I turned off the TV, Facebook, and cell phone and listened for the Lord to speak.  Let me tell you, When God Speaks, He reveals His heart!

God's heart is full of LOVE.  Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.(Ephesians 1:4 NLT) He loved us before He created the world!  Before creation, he chose us!  We are without fault in His eyes!!  God is all knowing, so he knew what we would do and how we would mess up things, but He loved us so much, that He had a plan to sacrifice His Son for us!!  He sacrificed His perfect, holy, and righteous Son for us- the ones who mess everything up!! He did this so we could live out our holy God-filled purpose.

I say to people all the time "God loves you", but now I have begun to wonder how to get the power of that statement to mean something beyond the words. Because, if you think about it, His love is beyond words!  So, I thought about the fact that Jesus' heart is pure.   Here is the top 10 list that God spoke to me.  God wants us to have a pure heart. What is a pure heart?

1. Longs for God.
2. Seeks to do God’s will.
3. Loves without expectation..
4. A pure heart is settled in the palm of Gods hand.
5. A pure heart is rooted in God’s love and forgiveness.
6. A pure heart runs to God when pierced or broken.
7. A pure heart seeks eternal perspective.
8. A pure heart is connected to God and full of His peace.
9. To be pure means to be free from anything of a different, inferior, or contaminating kind.
10.A clean and pure heart is ready for action. A pure heart has prepared for something special.  We clean our bodies to go out so we should also cleanse our heart.

If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work. Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure heart.             (2 Timothy 2:21-22)

With pure hearts, we are connected to God and His purpose for our lives.  We are clean and ready to show the true love of Our Father.  With pure hearts, we can go beyond saying "God Loves You!"  and show through our actions that God's love is beyond imaginable!!!!
